I’ll be honest and say that I’m rather surprised to be writing a recommendation for an album by Sebastian Bach! Firstly, because he has been rather disparaging about Belfast and our rock scene in some of his recent comments. And secondly, because “back in the day” I was never really a huge Skid Row fan (with the exception of a few tracks). Of course, Mr Bach could care less what I thought about him, though he may be pleased to know that I do like his latest solo offering “Give ‘Em Hell” which was released by Frontiers Records on 18th April.

Mr Bach has enlisted some high profile names to assist him on his latest solo release. It could be argued that it is these special guests who provide some of the highlights on the album. Duff McKagan plays bass on the album whilst John 5 and Steve Stevens input on guitar. Also appearing in the album are Devin Bronson on guitar and Bobby Jarzombek on drums.

Reviews and recommendations will generally reflect the views of those writing them and I have no doubt that fans of Bach and of the original Skid Row line-up will love “Give ‘Em Hell”. I may not love it as much as others will but I certainly think it’s a good album and well worth a recommendation! Favourite tracks include “Hell Inside My Head”, “All My Friends Are Dead”, “Temptation” and “Gun to a Knife Fight”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

I'm not a reviewer and I certainly don’t claim to be a journalist, but I wanted to acknowledge some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI by artists, promoters and labels. That was the simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends”. To be honest I’m not really a big fan of the whole idea of “Reviews” as they just represent one person’s opinion!!  So I'm not giving marks or ratings, trying to categorise bands or compare artists. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
