“Life On Ares” is the second album from German stoner rock band Plainride and it was released on 21st September by Ripple Music. The names of the band members are a good indication that they have a sense of humour and the album itself provides plenty of entertainment. The single “El Coyote” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 28th September.

Plainride formed in 2013 and released their debut album “Return of the Jackalope” in 2015. Their debut was well received and the band scored a number of notable opening slots and festival appearances. After signing with Ripple Music this album was re-released in 2017.

The band has created their own storyline around each of its members and you can find this on their website - https://plainri.de/ . I’ll simply tell you that the band are Fabe ‘van Fuzz’ Klein on guitar, Max Rebel on vocals, Leo ‘Lionhatch’ Beringer on bass and Florian ‘The Brave’ Schlenker on drums.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. The albums that I’ll be recommending are those that you’ll hear me playing tracks from on my shows. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation to go check something out, not a traditional “review”!
