Lizzies are female fronted rock band from Madrid, Spain and they released their second album, “On Thin Ice”, through The Sign Records on 5th October. Initially the band started off as an all-female outfit but they now have a male drummer. The band delivers some great metal tunes with a definite 80’s vibe. I included the single “Final Sentence” on the NI Rocks A-Z Show on 25th September.

Lizzies formed in Madrid in 2010, releasing a demo in 2012 and their first EP called “End of Time” in 2013. That was followed by their debut album “Good Luck” in 2016. The band have toured across Europe, playing some of the festivals and smaller venues. They’re currently finishing off another European tour which included three UK dates.

Bass player Motorcycle Marina and guitarist Patricia Strutter started the band and were joined by singer Elena Zodiac in 2012. There have been a couple of changes in drummer, but Dani Vera joined the band in 2017.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. The albums that I’ll be recommending are those that you’ll hear me playing tracks from on my shows. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation to go check something out, not a traditional “review”!
