_{“The Infinite Loop” is the third album from the band Sifting and it was released by Eclipse Records on 27th September. The band was formed in Venezuela in 2010 but is now based in California. I can’t say that I’m a particularly huge fan of the progressive metal genre, but there’s a lot of tracks on this album that I liked and it’s certainly worth checking out. The third single from the album, “Enough”, was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 11th October.}

 

_{Singer and guitarist Edeuardo ‘Edu’ Gil formed Sifting in Caracus, Venezuela in 2010, recruiting local musicians into the band. They supported Bullet for My Valentine in 2012 and toured the country before releasing their debut album “All The Hated” in 2013. The single “All The Hated” was featured in the game ‘Rock Band’ and Sifting gained a lot of fans outside of Venezuela, particularly in the USA.}

_{In 2014, Edu moved to Los Angeles and reformed Sifting with three new local musicians. An EP was released in 2015, followed by the second album, “Not From Here”, in 2016. Edu then recruited three new musicians and Sifting went on tour across North America. They signed to Eclipse Records in 2017 and the album “Not From Here” was re-released. They’ve since toured with bands such as Sons of Apollo and Prong.}

_{The Sifting line-up for “The Infinite Loope” features Eduardo Osuna Gil on lead vocals and guitar, Joey Aguirre on drums, Wins Jarquin on bass and Xavi Leon on lead guitar. The track “Ghost of A Lie” features a guest appearance from Derek Sherinian (Sons of Apollo/ Dream Theater etc).}
