The second album from Furyon has been long, long overdue! It finally landed on 23rd February when “Lost Salvation” was released through Dream Records / Cargo Records. And, not surprisingly, it was certainly worth the wait. The first album “Gravitas” was initially released in 2010 and established the band in many people’s eyes. There were a number of re-releases of that debut album, but we finally have a follow-up that is the equal (and perhaps more) of “Gravitas”. “Lost Salvation” has been on fairly heavy rotation on my iPod since I received the album from our friends at Rock n Growl Promotion, who as ever are doing a great job getting the album into the spotlight.

There have been a few line-up changes within Furyon over the years but we now have Matt Mitchell on vocals, Alex Bowen on bass and Lee Farmery on drums with Luca Faraone and Tiago Rosado on guitars. Former guitarist Chris Green, who is now a member of Tyketto, plays on the album which was recorded in Atlanta, USA and the band’s hometown of Brighton, England.

Usually in these recommendations I try to pick four or five tracks to highlight as personal favourites, but despite several attempts to narrow it down I can’t. All ten tracks on “Lost Salvation” are perfectly crafted rock tunes and anyone who shares my love of “classic” rock is sure to find this album to be a winner. It is very early in 2015 to talk about my top 20 albums of the year, and there are a lot of great releases on the way, but “Lost Salvation” certainly has made an early case for inclusion.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. What it isn’t is a “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
