Welsh rockers Buffalo Summer released their second album “Second Sun” through UDR Music on 20th May. This is one of those albums that I simply loved from the first listen. The band formed in South Wales on 2010 and released the self-titled album which I’ve played tracks from several times. The first single from “Second Sun” was “Money” which I played on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 8th April and again on 6th May. The second single is “Make You Mine”.

Buffalo Summer are Andrew Hunt on vocals, Jonny Williams on guitar, Gareth Hunt on drums and Darren King on bass. Together they deliver their own brand of bluesy, southern rock n roll.

The band signed to UDR Music earlier this year for the release of “Second Sun” and have been included in that category of ‘future legends’. Buffalo Summer have already toured with Duff McKagan, Ugly Kid Joe and Skid Row and more dates can be expected soon.

My favourite tracks from the 12 on the album would include “Money”, “Make You Mine”, “Neverend”, “Little Charles” and “Priscilla”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation to go check something out, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
