“In Pursuit of Memory” is the debut album from English melodic rock band Atlas following the release of their EP “World in Motion” in 2017. The album was released on 28th September on the AOR Heaven label and is one that any melodic rock / AOR fans will want to check out. I'll feature a track from the album on the Show next week.

Atlas was formed in early 2017 and features James Thorley on keyboards, Craig Wells on vocals, John Moss and Howie Little on guitars and Chris Redfearn on bass. They recorded an EP called “World in Motion” which was released on their Bandcamp website in August 2017. The EP included backing vocals from Sam Millar of the band Bigfoot and was well received on the AOR / melodic rock circuit.

Work on “In Pursuit of Memory” started in December, but there was a break whilst the band toured with Vega and Midnite City. During this period the band also signed with AOR Heaven. Sam Millar again joined the band to record backing vocals.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. The albums that I’ll be recommending are those that you’ll hear me playing tracks from on my shows. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation to go check something out, not a traditional “review”!
