“Demoncracy” is the second album from German metal band God’s Army and it was released on 12th October via Rock of Angels Records (ROAR!). The band formed initially in 2004 but it was 2014 before their debut album was released. The track “Enemy Maker” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show this week (26th Oct).

God’s Army formed in 2004 but went into hiatus in 2007 after drummer Mark Cross joined Firewind and singer / bass guitarist John ABC Smith was injured in a car accident. They reformed in 2012, with both Cross and Smith returning, but until 2016 had to use the name God’s Army AD for legal reasons. Their self-titled debut album in 2014 was released under that name.

Joining Smith and Cross in the band are guitarists Ian O’Sullivan (a founding member of the band) and Eddie Van Dahl (who joined in 2016).

There are 10 tracks on the album including a 13 minute epic called “The Replicant” and a brave cover of “My Way”.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. The albums that I’ll be recommending are those that you’ll hear me playing tracks from on my shows. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation to go check something out, not a traditional “review”!
