Anyone who knows me, listens to the NI Rocks Shows on Rock Radio NI or follows any of the NI Rocks social media sites will know that we are big fans of The Last Vegas. So it should come as no shock to find an “NI Rocks Recommends” for the new album from The Last Vegas entitled “Sweet Salvation” which gets released in the UK on 2nd June. Anyone who contributed to the band’s pledge campaign last year, as we did, will have already received their download link and possibly the signed CD depending on their pledge. If you haven’t already got it, make sure that you put it on your shopping list. You won’t be disappointed!

“Drive” is the first album from multi-national band Mother Road. It is released on 26th May through the band’s own Road Songs label, with distribution being handled by AOR Heaven. Mother Road was founded in 2011 following a meeting between guitarist Chris Lyne (formerly of Soul Doctor) and American vocalist Keith Slack (Steelhouse Lane / Michael Schenker Group / Mudpie). Described in their press release as a Hard Rock Blues band, I have to admit that during my first listen to the album I did draw comparison to early Whitesnake on a number of occasions.
