I decided last year that I wasn’t going to post a “review” of 2015 and for the same reasons I have no plans to do one for 2016. We’re all aware of the talented artists we have lost in the past 12 months and nothing I could write would add to what others have said. And, as I’ve generally very little time for other peoples Top 10 whatever of the year, I’m working on the presumption that no-one really cares how many gigs I went to or what my favourite gigs or albums were!
What I would like to do though is express my thanks to many people and look back at the past year for “NI Rocks”. In particular, thanks to anyone who takes the time to listen to a Show, read something on the Rock Radio NI website or interact in any way on social media. The latter is increasingly challenging for those running anything similar to NI Rocks; unless you are willing to buy “likes” or pay to increase access, so I really appreciate those who take the effort to like, comment on or share posts.
“The Unrevealed Secret” is the debut album from a band called Eternal Idol and features stand-out vocal performances from Fabio Lione and Giorgia Colleluori. The band brings together a former lead singer for Hollow Haze (Lione 2013-2014) and the current singer (Colleluori since Aug 2015) as well as 2 other current members of that band. “The Unrevealed Secret” was released on 2nd December via Frontiers Music.

“Clown’s Lounge” is one of those albums that you’re a bit hesitant using the word “new” about (like Lita Ford’s “Time Capsule” earlier this year). The latest offering from Enuff Z’nuff was released on 2nd December through Frontiers Music and features 11 tracks that were originally recorded back in 1988-89, but never finished. There is also a totally new bonus track called “Dog on a Bone” that has been released as a single. That track featured on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 16th December.

Diego Reali will be known to many as the guitarist in Italian power metal band DGM for many years. His latest band is called Hevidence (originally Evidence) and they released the album “Nobody’s Fault” through Frontiers Records on 2nd December. I included the track “Dig in the Night” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 23rd December.
