Mike Tramp will invariably be known to most people as the frontman for White Lion, even though he has an ever increasing catalogue of great, post White Lion music and he has made it clear on many occasions that there will be no reunion. The latest album from Mike Tramp is “Nomad” which is released through Target Music on 28th August. Tramp has referred to “Nomad” as the third part of a trilogy in a musical and personal journey, following on from “Cobblestone Street” in 2013 and “Museum” in 2014. This time the album features a full band throughout and it really is worth checking out. You can catch Mike Tramp and his band in the Diamond Rock Club, Ahoghill on Saturday 12th September.

A video has just been released for the opening track on the album “Give It All You Got” and this song is included on the Friday NI Rocks Show broadcast on 28th August. Other personal favourites from the ten tracks on the album are “Wait Till Forever”, “Counting The Hours”, “High Like A Mountain” (the first single released back in July) and “Live To Tell”; though it really is difficult to narrow it down to five tracks.

On “Nomad”, Tramp has worked with guitarist Soren Andersen, drummer Morten Hellborn, keyboardist Morten Buchholz and bassist Jesper Haugaard. Both Anderson and Helborn had recorded with Tramp on “The Rock n Roll Circuz” album in 2009 and “Stand Your Ground” in 2011. Anderson was also the only other musician to feature on “Cobblestone Street” and “Museum” along with Mike Tramp.

About “NI Rocks Recommends”

The simple idea behind “NI Rocks Recommends” is to acknowledge and promote some of the great music being submitted to Rock Radio NI. I'll not be giving marks or ratings or analyzing the tracks in great detail; just telling you something about the artist and the album. It’s a personal recommendation, not a traditional “review”!

My musical tastes cover most things rock; from the not too melodic to the not too heavy. The albums that I’ll be recommending are merely those that I would buy myself and which you’ll be hearing played on my shows on Rock Radio NI.
