My recent album recommendations have included releases labelled as melodic rock, prog rock, symphonic rock and “classic” rock. According to the press release, this latest recommendation takes us into alternative rock, although I’ve also seen the band labelled as hard rock! As I’ve said before, if I like something I don’t really care what label is applied to it. Those latest recommendations have covered bands from the UK, Sweden (mainly), Argentina, the USA and Australia. This one brings me back to Sweden and a band called Haunted by Destiny who released an album entitled “Aria For An Angel” through the Doolittle Group on 20th September. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already.

Symphonic rock or metal is another one of those genres / labels that can be hit or miss for me. Sometimes it can be a little too operatic no matter how heavy the guitars are! “Fool” by Darkyra Black is one of two albums of that genre that we’ve received from Rock n Growl Promotion recently that does tick the boxes for me though (the other is by Graveshadow). Darkyra Black is actually the name of the Australian singer rather than the name of a band and “Fool”, which was released on 18th September via Cargo Records, is her second album.
